Abstract Submission Guideline

Please read the instructions below carefully before preparing your abstract. 

All accepted abstract presenters (presenting author) must be registered for the Conference before Feb 15, 2018

· Aim to capture the Scientific committee’s interest
· Be clear and concise

TITLE


The title should be succinct yet clearly describe the session. Use sentence case (i.e. the first letter of the sentence is capitalized, with the rest being the lower case except for proper nouns and acronyms). Do not use any abbreviations in the title. The titles of accepted abstracts will be published in the final conference programme. You should adhere to the original title and content of the submission when presenting your session.



ABSTRACT CONTENT

1. Your abstract should not exceed 250 words.
2. Abstracts must be submitted in English.


GENERAL STYLE GUIDELINES



Abstracts should be structured under the following headings:
a. Title
b. Authors name
c. Objective
d. Methodology
e. Results
f. Conclusion
g. Outline of the session (What will happen in the session? What will participants be expected to do? Are there any pre-requisites for attending this session?) *
h. Learning outcomes (The learning outcomes should describe the skills or knowledge that authors believe delegates will attain as a result of attending their presentation) *

Name the file as in the Title of the Abstract

RESOURCES (for Instructional Course only)

You will be responsible for bringing your own resources, but please indicate the type of space required to facilitate your instructional session. Do you need space for people to move around in?
Does your session need tables? etc...


BIOGRAPHY

Please supply a brief biography (less than 100 words) for the principal and second authors/presenter with a photo in a separate last page in the same abstract word file.


AUTHORS

Give first name, last name, and affiliation of main authors associated with the abstract. Omit degrees and titles.


It is the responsibility of the person submitting the abstract to ensure that the full details of all authors are entered correctly giving first name, surname, and affiliation of main authors associated with the abstract. These sections will be published in the final conference programme as submitted by you.


For Symposium Presentations (Total Duration - 55 mins)

 

  • Minimum of 3 and Maximum of 5 speakers to be involved
  • Total duration of the session is 55 mins
  • Each presentation should be 7 minutes with 3 additional minutes for questions and answers (total of 10 minutes of presentation time).
  • Powerpoint presentation should be uploaded prior to the session at the venue speaker ready room.
  • Own laptops will not be allowed for presentations
  • Video files should be in the form of MP4 / WMV format
  • Presenters should arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to check in with session co-chairs.
  • Keep sufficient time for discussion and Q&A at the end of the session

For Instructional Course Presentations (Total Duration - 45 mins)

  • Powerpoint presentation should be uploaded prior to the session at the venue speaker ready room.
  • Total duration of the session is 45 mins
  • Powerpoint presentation should be uploaded prior to the session at the venue speaker ready room.
  • Own laptops will not be allowed for presentations
  • Presenters should arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to check in with session co-chairs.
  • Keep sufficient time for discussion and Q&A at the end of the session

For Master of OSAS Surgery Video Presentations (15 mins)

  • Video presentations should be 12 minutes with 3 additional minutes for questions and answers (total of 15 minutes of presentation time).
  • Total duration of the presentation is 15 mins
  • Video files should be uploaded prior to the session at the venue speaker ready room.
  • Video files should be in the form of MP4 / WMV format
  • No Powerpoint presentation will be permitted
  • Only one video file should be there
  • Presenters should arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to check in with session co-chairs.

For Poster Presentations

  • The poster surface area is 1 meter (100cm or 39 inches) wide horizontal by 2 meters (200cm or 78 inches) tall vertical. It is recommended that your poster size be 92cm x 120cm (36 inches wide x 48 inches tall) with the final size determined by each author.
  • Each poster must have a top label indicating the title of the paper, the names of the authors and their affiliations.
  • The size of the characters for the title should be large enough to be viewed at a distance of 2 meters.
  • The tape will be provided for you to affix your poster to the display boards.
  • You may hand out information sheets to those viewing your poster.
  • Charts, drawings, and illustrations may be used within the poster.
  • Posters should be printed on paper or laminated paper. Do not use heavy cardboard or other heavy materials for mounting.
  • “Introduction” and “Conclusion” sections are helpful. When feasible, use graphs for demonstrating qualitative relationships, tables of precise numerical values. Photographs should be printed on non-glossy matte finish paper.
  • Do not mail your poster
  • Do not fold your poster. Instead, transport the poster in an appropriate container.
  • Our staff and/or volunteers will be present to assist you with locating poster boards and mounting.

For Oral (Postgraduate award paper) Presentations

  • Oral presentations should be 5 minutes to summarize the abstract, with 2 additional minutes for questions and answers (total of 10 minutes of presentation time).
  • Total duration of the presentation is 7 mins
  • Powerpoint presentation files should be uploaded prior to the session at the venue speaker ready room.
  • Own laptops will not be allowed for presentations
  • Presenters should arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to check in with session co-chairs.

For Oral (Consultant award paper) Presentations

  • Oral presentations should be 7 minutes to summarize the abstract, with 1 additional minutes for questions and answers.
  • Total duration of the presentation is 8 mins
  • Powerpoint presentation files should be uploaded prior to the session at the venue speaker ready room.
  • Own laptops will not be allowed for presentations
  • Presenters should arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to check in with session co-chairs.

He has performed the first and only series of Hypoglossal nerve stimulation implant in Spain. He has performed the first robotic surgery of the head and neck in Spain and trained in the field of otorhinolaryngology with special interests in the field of sleep apnea surgery with the use of new techniques, advanced endoscopic sinus and anterior skull-base surgery and, practice includes ample experience in head and neck surgery.
